More with Grace

When Grace said she wanted to do more shoots, was happy to experiment with new ideas and eager to do more location work despite the poor weather, I was hardly going to say no.  So you’ll probably be seeing quite a lot of her over the next few months 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve used a high key set and Grace doesn’t have much mainstream glamour in her portfolio, so that would be our starting point followed by artistic nude, bodyscape and at Grace’s request, a shower set.  The weather was pretty grim, so we wouldn’t be venturing outside this time.
I left Linda doing makeup and went off to dig out my favourite high-key kit – a 2m white reflector umbrella, a 60 degree reflector with double diffuser and a 4′ x 8′ white studio flat.
I’d chosen a grey background rather than white to make the set as flexible as possible but starting off with it lit to white then dropping the background lights later to give the silver grey gradient that I really like.
When Grace first came to us she had never even thought of modelling, but she was keen to learn and that’s paying off.  She still doesn’t have the experience to deliver professional level work, but she’s learning fast.  That together with her enthusiasm make her a firm favourite in our studio and once again she delivered.
I do have to admit though that her infectious grin did slip, though only for a moment, when I told her that because of the problems of condensation, we wouldn’t be using hot water in her shower set 😉
