Chrissie + 1

When Chrissie contacted me asking for a shoot, she asked for a countryside location shoot.

So it was that we were parked at the location at 05:30, ready for a couple of undisturbed hours of shooting in the early morning sunlight.  Well we’re in the middle of a heatwave, right?  The weatherman is saying”hottest day of the year”  right?  Clear skies and sunshine right?

Wrong.   The tor that was to be our location was about a hundred yards from us, and we could barely see it through the fog and drizzle.

We turned around and drove the 45 minutes back to the studio.

Just before we started work in the studio Chrissie surprised me by announcing this would be her last shoot.  She’d enjoyed modelling, but now it was time to move on.

She also said that as it was her last shoot, she only wanted to shoot stuff she liked doing, and as she mentioned the things she didn’t like doing I was crossing off idea after idea in my shoot plan.
This was going to be a challenge.

We started with some work for my nude portrait project and that was when I got the next surprise.

As we worked we chatted with Chrissie and Steve, her husband who had driven her and was now sat in the studio watching.  I mentioned that sometimes when we were doing the project sets, partners and chaperones had become interested in the project and asked if they could pose too.

At that point Chrissie looked at Steve and said, “go on then”  and he promptly stood up, shed all his clothes and stepped onto the set 🙂

Reglar checks on the weather made it clear our second planned location was another non-starter, and that we would be staying in the studio, but now we were working a mix of solo and couple shots.

We didn’t get any of the stuff we’d planned, but we did get a fun, and varied, not to mention challenging shoot 🙂
